A few years back we took our youngest son to see Mont-Saint-Michel.
Perched on a rocky islet in the midst of vast sandbanks exposed to powerful tides between Normandy and Brittany stands a Gothic-style Benedictine abbey dedicated to the archangel St Michael. On the day of our visit there was an event on in the abbey and this artwork is painted from a photo we took in one of the chambers. It is work with bits of collage, poetry and thick, loose impressionistic strokes of acrylic.
