This is an older series of paintings of statuary. I was dealing with a lot of physical pain at the time and these works were for me the push and pull between hope and despair. I felt raw and broken. I was trying to work out how to live well anyway. This quote from Leonard Cohen became my prayer :"Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything.That's how the light gets in."
